PM meets with President of Djibouti

(TAP) - Prime Minister Youssef Chahed held talks, on Wednesday at the Government Palace in Kasbah, with President of Djibouti Ismaïl Omar Guelleh who is making an official visit to Tunisia from October 2 to 4, 2018 at the invitation of his Tunisian counterpart Beji Caïd Essebsi.

The meeting discussed ways to strengthen the long-standing fraternal ties established between the two countries, to give a fresh impetus to bilateral cooperation, boost investment and increase partnership opportunities in all areas, said a statement from the Prime Ministry.

The meeting also highlighted the need to step up between Tunisian businessmen and their Djiboutian counterparts in the framework of the Tunisian-African Business Council that will take place at the initiative of the Council and the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA).

The programme of cooperation and partnership between Tunisia and Djibouti encompasses several economic fields, including transport, tourism, engineering, communication technologies and building as well as other vital sectors, namely health, education, vocational training, higher education, social affairs, housing, women and the family.
