(TAP) - "Tunisia should be removed from the grey list of tax havens established by the European Union in February or, at the latest, in March 2019," said Prime Minister’s adviser Faisal Derbel.

Speaking to TAP on Monday on the sidelines of a press conference held at the Kasbah on monitoring the implementation of the work plan of the Financing Action Task Force (FATF), Derbel said Tunisia has complied with the established programme, in particular with regard to the approximation of the tax systems of offshore and onshore companies and the reform of the export system. The latter was the subject of a dispute between Tunisia and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

"We have also reported an improvement in lifting of solicitor-client privilege," he said, recalling that a new version of this bill will be presented to the Parliament, following the rejection of Article No. 36 of the Finance Act 2019, by the provisional constitutional review authority
