(TAP Correspondent Bahija Belmabrouk) – Relations between Tunisia and Burkina Faso and ways to strengthen co-operation in the economic field and in countering terrorism were discussed at a meeting Tuesday between Prime Minister Youssef Chahed and his Burkina Faso’s counterpart Christophe Joseph Marie Dabiré at the UN headquarters in Geneva.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 108th session of the International Labour Conference (ILC) taking place in Geneva from 10 to 21 June 2019, the two PMs said they intend to strengthen cooperation in several areas, including security, health and education.

Chahed emphasised the excellent relations between the two countries and the satisfactory level of bilateral cooperation in various fields, including the fight against terrorism, organised crime and illegal immigration.

 "The political relations are excellent between our two countries and we wish to further consolidate trade cooperation and the reception of Burkinabe students in Tunisia as well as improving the conditions of medical evacuation of Burkinabe patients to Tunisia, it is a win-win exchange,' said Chahed.

For his part, the Burkinabe Prime Minister said "the fight against terrorism is the new challenge of the moment. Tunisia faced this situation a few years ago. Today, it has some experience in the fight against terrorism that it could share with Burkina Faso, "he pointed out
