(TAP) - Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi reaffirmed as he chaired the Cabinet meeting Thursday the need to keep on complying with the various measures announced by the National Authority to Combat the Coronavirus.
He urged caution and committing to the adoption of means of prevention, protection and respect approved health protocols.
During the review of a presentation on the health situation in the country and the latest data and statistics related to the evolution of the epidemiological situation, the PM stressed the state's determination to "impose the authority of law on violators» of preventive measures.
He also highlighted the importance of respecting the fresh measures approved by Wednesday's meeting of the National Authority to Combat Coronavirus on Wednesday for a number of sectors.
These measures aim to maintain the minimum level of economic activity, while limiting the speed of the virus spread, he was quoted as saying in a Prime Ministry statement.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister said at the meeting he ordered holding the period governors' conference next Saturday.
The meeting will focus on development in regions. Schedules of visits to regions and special local councils will also be set at the conference.
He added that this work "will follow a comprehensive development approach, based on studying and discussing the development situation in its various aspects and characteristics, in a participatory dialogue between all national and regional stakeholders.»
Mechichi added that the expected visits to a number of regions will be made by work teams representing all relevant ministries headed by a government member.
They will examine the development situation and ways to overcome its impediments and later dedicate small cabinet meetings to each region from which a set of executable decisions will emerge.
The aim is to stimulate employment and investment and concretely improve the standard of living of citizens in the regions concerned.
