Youssef Chahed, Emmanuel Macron hold working session

(TAP) - A working session was held late Wednesday afternoon in Dar Edhiafa, Carthage between Prime Minister Youssef Chahed and French president Emmanuel Macron who has just started a two-day state visit to Tunisia, heading a high-level delegation, at the invitation of his Tunisian counterpart Beji Caïd Essebsi.

The working session, attended by the two countries’ delegations, takes place on the visit of French president Emmanuel Macron to Tunisia and after the first session of the Tunisian-French High Council for Co-operation held on October 5, 2017 in Tunis.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the different aspects of the Tunisian-French co-operation, particularly in the fields of finance, economics, scientific research, youth, mobility between the two countries and migration.

It also discussed bilateral co-operation in the field of security, particularly in the fight against radicalisation and terrorism.

The meeting also examined several issues of common interest and the challenges facing the Mediterranean region.
