Commitment to dialogue asserted at meeting chaired by Caid Essebsi

(TAP) – President Béji Caid Essebsi Saturday chaired in Carthage a meeting attended by Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) Mohamed Ennaceur, Prime Minister Youssef Chahed, Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labour Union (French: UGTT) Noureddine Tabboubi and President of the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (French: UTICA) Samir Majoul.

The meeting mainly took stock of the economic, social and political situation in the country.

Participants underscored commitment to the mechanism of dialogue in the framework of Carthage Document and the need to update priorities. They also stressed the necessity of agreeing on practical programmes and urgent measures to improve the situation and restore Tunisians’ confidence, reads a Presidency press release
