Chahed/WB delegation review mechanisms to boost co-operation and develop partnership

(TAP) – Mechanisms to boost co-operation and further develop partnership between Tunisia and the World Bank (WB) were reviewed during a meeting held Wednesday in Tunis between Prime Minister Youssef Chahed and a WB delegation led by WB Vice President for Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region Ferid Belhaj and WB Country Director for the Maghreb and Malta, Middle East and North Africa Marie Francoise Marie-Nelly.

Chahed indicated on this occasion that the joint co-operation is necessary to step up competitiveness and sustainability of the Tunisian economy which will help improve the level of low-income categories and open up new promising prospects for youths in terms of jobs and creation of projects, a Prime Ministry press release reads.

For her part, Marie Francoise Marie-Nelly hailed the PM’s willingness to ensure all adequate conditions and ease them so as to improve the business climate and encourage investments in the private sector, mainly in the energy and renewable energies field.

The co-operation fields also include vital sectors such as education, higher education and scientific research, she added.
