Tunisia-Djibouti: Towards strengthening economic and trade relations

(TAP) – Prime Minister Youssef Chahed stressed, on Thursday in Tunis, the importance of the Tunisian-Djiboutian business forum in the development of Tunisian-Djiboutian relations at the economic and trade levels as well as in terms of investment for "the achievement of a new stimulus ".

Speaking at the opening of this economic event, Chahed who was accompanied by the President of the Republic of Djibouti Ismaïl Omar Guelleh noted the remarkable development that Djibouti has recorded at the economic and trade levels in recent years, highlighting its strategic position at the southern entrance to the Red Sea and its proximity to the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait.

The Prime Minister stressed that the implementation of the vision "Djibouti 2035" will make it possible to achieve a qualitative leap for the country, which will be reflected by the development of ports and airports as well as infrastructure, to make of it a commercial pole.

This forum, held at the initiative of the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) aims at organising meetings between Tunisian businessmen and their counterparts in Djbouti to identify opportunities for partnership and investment in the service of the interests of both parties.

The President of the Republic of Djibouti Omar Guelleh is currently paying a two-day official visit to Tunisia
