PM presents Cabinet reshuffle in Cabinet meeting

(TAP) - The cabinet reshuffle announced last Monday by Prime Minister Youssef Chahed was presented on Thursday to the Cabinet meeting.

During the meeting at the Kasbah's Government Palace, Youssef Chahed gave a presentation on the cabinet reshuffle that affected several government members, praising "the efforts of the entire government team in the best interests of the nation".

He expressed his thanks to the ministers who quit the government for "their efforts in serving Tunisia.”

Article 92 of the Constitution stipulates that "the Head of Government is responsible for creating, modifying and dissolving ministries and secretariats of state, as well as determining their mandates and prerogatives, after discussing the matter with the Council of Ministers.”

At the Cabinet meeting, the new ministry in charge of civil service, modernisation of the administration and public policies created in the framework of the reshuffle was also presented.

The appointment of a minister to the Prime Minister in charge of social and solidarity economy was also presented.

The Cabinet meeting approved seven draft laws and twenty-four draft government decrees, including a draft government decree setting out the judicial districts and the chambers and advisory sections of the Administrative Tribunal.

The Cabinet also approved a draft government decree appointing two members of the National Counter-Terrorism Commission
