Ahmini" initiative will provide social coverage for 500,000 rural women (PM)

(TAP) – Prime Minister Youssef Chahed said, on Friday in Nachaaa town in Haouaria (Governorate of Nabeul), that the "Ahmini" initiative will guarantee social coverage for 500 thousand rural women.

Chahed, who launched this welfare programme in Haouaria, added that it (the programme) guarantees rural women the right to a pension through simple daily contributions not exceeding 600 millimes via mobile phones.

In a statement to the media, the Prime Minister further stated that the "Ahmini" initiative had already been launched more than a year earlier, "but it only came into force today".

According to him, access to social security coverage for all citizens is one of the "duties of the State". "The "Ahmini" initiative also gives concrete expression to the State's social responsibility towards disadvantaged groups," he said.

Aimed at 950,000 disadvantaged and low-income families, the "Ahmini" programme aims to strengthen the social security system.
