(TAP)- The crisis in which Tunisia is mired is by far political and moral, said the Caretaker Prime Minister. The current economic hardships are inherent in the political crisis, he added.

Youssef Chahed, who addressed Friday participants in the 34th edition of Business Days in Sousse, urged consideration of an election law revamp. A new election method would be welcome to avoid difficulties in forming a coalition government and to make sure the parliament will not make room for "first comers."

It is impossible to carry on working when an organic law of the parliament is putting hurdles to legislation, Ch ahed said. He added, in this vein, that over 100 bills out of a total of 260 tabled by his cabinet were not brought to the floor yet.

A strong State does not necessarily have to be authoritarian, the Caretaker Premier said, and politicians need to stop political hypocrisy.

The restructuring of public enterprises, the provision of additional resources and the relaunch of productive sectors need to be key areas of focus for the St ate in the coming stage.

Chahed also called for embracing the culture of contracts involving the State, the government and the private sector as it is the case of the textile sector
