(TAP) - President Kais Saied received, Thursday at the Carthage Palace, Caretaker Prime Minister Youssef Chahed.

Quoted in a statement of the Presidency of the Republic, Chahed said he notified the Head of State of “the latest security, economic and social developments and challenges that will face the country in the coming weeks”.

He added that Kais Saied stressed the need for the government to continue its activities until the new government takes office. The aim is to preserve the public utility, the statement said
