Small Cabinet meeting decides fresh measures to stem COVID-19 spread

(TAP) – A Small Cabinet Meeting (SCM) was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Elyes Fakhfakh, to monitor the development of the epidemiological situation in the country.

The meeting decided to take the following additional measures to fight the spread of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19):

- Further organise granting of traffic permits

- Impose a fine on citizens who do not comply with the provisions of lockdown

- Ban inter-governorate travel and isolate regions declared coronavirus hotspots

- Decree Friday April 10, exceptional holiday to reduce traffic, except in cases of force majeure.

- Create a working team in the Ministry of Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises, made up of representatives of the various ministerial departments concerned and Customs to produce masks, set their prices and ensure their availability in the domestic market.

The Prime Minister called to support the national effort to stem the COVID-19 and to respect all the measures taken, particularly those relating to the general lockdown.
