Mechichi underscores need to continue customs system's reform

(TAP) - Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi underscored on Sunday, during a ceremony at the National Customs School in Foundouk Jedid (Nabeul), the need to continue the reform of the Customs system, to further streamline procedures and increase transparency of services in this field.

During this ceremony organised on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the Tunisian Customs, Mechichi also pointed to the need to develop the customs\\' computing system in compliance with the international standards, with a view to to enhance the efficiency of customs activities and reduce the time required to process goods, and to adopt the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) mechanism to boost the economic dynamic in the country.

Besides, he indicated that smuggling and terrorism have no place in Tunisia thanks to the commitment and professionalism of the security, military and customs institutions and to the Tunisian people\\'s support to these institutions.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Master Corporal Mohamed Bechina shooting range, recently fitted out at the National Customs School.
