29 May 2015 - TAP - President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz Thursday hailed the decision to start in October Tunisia-European Union (EU) Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) negotiations.
"The DCFTA will soon see light of day," Schulz said at a joint news conference with Prime Minister Habib Essid.
The European official said the draft agreement is "promising" and expressed hope Tunisia will manage to lay the foundations for a strong economic growth.
"This is an important step on the pathway to economic integration in the European market," he pointed up; it will undoubtedly help draw foreign direct investments.
Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini Wednesday announced in Brussels that DCFTA talks between the EU and Tunisia will commence in October.
