August 8, 2016 - TAP  - Caretaker Prime Minister Habib Essid ordered the payment of an advance to the National Authority for the Prevention of Torture (French: INPT) to help it discharge its mission, pending the 2017 budget.

Habib Essid received, Monday, a delegation of the INPT led by its president Hamida Dridi, who said that the meeting had been an occasion to review the material and logistical difficulties impeding action of the authority, which is still without a headquarter, according to a Prime Ministry press release.

Essid expressed understanding towards the authority’s situation and its members' claims, the same source specified.
