The National Agency for Electronic Certification (ANCE) is the root authority of certification in Tunisia. It has been created by Law n°2000-83 dated 9 August 2000 governing the electronic exchanges and trade with an aim of supporting, through the services which it proposes, an environment of confidence and security of the exchanges on the Internet in different fields such as e-trade, e-government, e-banking, e-finance, e-education, e-health.
Within this framework, the National Agency for Electronic Certification sees to the achievement of the following missions:
- the establishment of the agreements of mutual reconnaissance with the foreign Authorities of Certification,
- the management of the electronic certificates (production, revocation, publication and conservation of certificates),
- the grant of the authorizations of activity of supplier of electronic certification services,
- the definition of the technical characteristics of the devices of signature and checking of signature,
- the approval of the encoding systems (Decree n° 2001-2727 2001-2727 dated 20 November 2001,
- the Proposal of security solutions within the framework of electronic certification for your Internet and Intranet networks and services,
- to ensure the training in electronic signature, techniques of coding and infrastructure with public key.
