The service of online registration allows for three years all the students of the 192 higher education establishments that account Tunisia to register and pay the university registrations fees online.

The application of distance registration is composed of a front office intended for the student and allowing him to be informed about on the registration methods in his institution and to pay his registration fees by using the electronic money developed by the Tunisian Post and called "e-dinar ".

Moreover, a back office allows the schooling departments of higher education establishments to distantly manage the part of the database corresponding to their institution and to pilot the registration operation of the students concerning them.

The application also allows the universities and the central administration of the ministry to follow the unfolding of the online registration in real time through a dashboard. Thus, the national application of university registration presents several advantages:

  • For the student:to be registered, he is bound only to introduce the number of his national identity card, all is displayed then in the screen and he is guided to follow all the stages until the impression of the receipt attesting the success of the transaction payment. This electronic shortcut avoids a waste of money and time (the traveling expenses are sometimes higher than the registration fees!!). Moreover, the foreign students that many of them are from the African countries obtain a single identifier which is delivered to them by the General Directorate of International Cooperation. This identifier gives access to them to the service of distance registration (instead of the number of the national identity card) and to be registered from their country of origin.
  • For the administrations of the higher education establishments : this procedure allows to better organize the students' registration and to obtain an automatic transfer of the registrations fees. These transfers require, before the installation of this procedure, the mobilization of a great number of civil servants and the recovery of the registration fees come to an end after several months. The online registration also allows to better control the unfolding of the registration, its state of advancement and the generation of the statistics. Thanks to this application, the universities and the central departments of the ministry may, using an appropriate interface, follow-up in real time the unfolding of the registration. This allows, in particular, to be informed about the respect of the deadlines of the courses starting and to help to decide measures to be taken in the event of irregularities.
